Hyaluronic acid has multiple applications in traditional medicine, as it is an excellent lubricant that can help with conditions such as arthritis. Another area where it can be injected to eliminate wrinkles is the hands, an area highly exposed to environmental conditions and cleaning products. This is from an academic perspective. Clinically, we know that age is irrelevant. It is the best product. Make sure the product is ideal for the area being treated. The type of hyaluronic acid used in the lips, cheeks, crow's feet, neck, or nasolabial folds is not the same. Be wary of doctors who use the same product for everything. If they are well-trained and it's a reputable clinic, they will explain which one to use for each area. Tell your doctor about your healing process. Some people heal very poorly, and although it's true that these are tiny injections, in patients with a history of keloids or severe hypertrophic scarring, complications cannot be ruled out. Inform the doctor about this and show them any previous scars so they can assess any potential risks.
